Brigade incubation centre to focus on nano technology, logistics start ups
August 10, 2016
BENGALURU: Property developer Brigade Group said it is focusing on nano technology, logistics and supply chain management among others in its planned real estate accelerator programme at its incubation centre.
The programme, expected to begin in October, will focus on five verticals which the company believes can disrupt the way a builder operates.
"We will look for companies in nano materials, supply chain logistics, video computing surveillance, real time control management and renewable energy," Brigade Hospitality director NirupaShankar said.
Each of the verticals will have between four and six mentors and the number of start ups will be restricted to 10 at the maximum.
Shankar, daughter of Brigade chairman M Jaishankar, added the company is narrowing down verticals and talking to other developers to understand the problems plaguing the sector and subsequently look out for companies to try to solve these issues.
As part of the process, Brigade has roped in John Kuruvilla, former managing director of Reliance Industries-backed venture fund GenNext Ventures. Kuruvilla will be the chief mentor.
